Bradley Koen

Being an ex- substance abuser, my life was a mess and the road to recovery has been a long and difficult one. A few months ago, it seemed as if I had no future at all and that the light at the end of the tunnel was unreachable. While facing this challenge with overwhelming emotions, caused by the pressures of life tugging me in every direction, I didn’t know left from right. I knew I had to start somewhere soon but didn’t have a clue how. Then, while staying at the Restoration Centre, I heard about the Communiversity.I was reluctant at first, thinking that my age would count against me, but I took the chance and I’ve never looked back.

The impact that the Communiversity has had and is currently still having since Day One has been so huge that I sometimes stand in total awe of it. From being broken and having no self-esteem or confidence or direction, I am now focused and have a plan for where I am going. I wake up with purpose and determination believing in myself and knowing that I will make all my goals into a reality. Along with the Restoration Centre, the Communiversity created a bridge to cross over from being lost to being focused, driven and having the state of mind to believe anything is possible with perseverance and hard work whilst still enjoying life.

I have also learned a very useful technique to have quiet time through Transcendental Meditation twice a day which has helped me make decisions for my life and also helped me to relax and reduce the stresses of a busy life that can distract you from focusing on what is most important. Now I am all about healthy living and gaining health in body, soul and mind!

Joining the Communiversity has been a blessing and I thank God for this experience. If I had had this opportunity a few years ago, I believe my life would have been so much different with a lot less disappointment and a lot more success. Better late than never, though!

Thank you, Communiversity! Because of you, the light at the end of the tunnel is almost in reach!

Bradley is now working as a staff member at the Communiversity.
